FS: Digisound VCO boards and CEM3340 VCO chips

2011-07-07 by Richard Wentk

Hi All

I have four Digisound 80-2 analogue VCO boards for sale. These are *populated* - i.e. built - and tested but never connected to a panel or used in a full synth.

They need a panel, sockets and pots to create a full modular VCO.

**These are NOT full VCOs - they're bare boards that a hobbyist can connect to a home-made panel and add to their synth. Don't buy these boards if you don't know how to solder or do basic electronic DIY!**

I don't have panels for sale, so the buyer will have to make or source their own. Power requirements are +/- 15V and GND, which should be compatible with dot com PSUs. They will also need to be calibrated.

For those who don't know, the Digisound was a kit modular from the late 80s. Details of the VCO are here:

http://www.digisound80.co.uk/digisound/modules/80-2/80-2.htm

Two boards are almost populated and include everything except a CEM3340 VCO chip, which will have to be bought separately. They're currently around $60-$70 on eBay. (These are the chips used in many of the big-name big-sound 80s polys - Sequential, Oberheim, etc.)

The other two are fully populated and include a CEM3340 each.

The CEM3340s are socketed, so they've never been soldered. They've been run for a few hours total during testing, so they're almost literally as good as new.

Looking for best offers to a good home. These are small, light items so I can ship anywhere in the world from the UK at cost.

I'd like to sell them to DIYers before trying the eBay route, so contact me if you're interested.

Thanks,

Richard
