Aliis, Hello! Yes, this is one of the smaller groups. Not too many modules are available in the dotcom format. The *similar* MOTM format is very popular, however. Modules are available from SynthTech (of course), Encore Electronics, Modcan's new B series is physically compatible (but a different color), and Blacet is working more closely with the Stooges. Speaking of the Stooges, the guys at www.wiseguysynth.com (Larry Hendry, most notably) make what they call "Stooge panels" for converting modules to the MOTM format. The Stooges have done something with dotcom panels, too, though -- maybe Larry can give us an update on that. Some people are willing to combine MOTM and dotcom modules in the same synth, even though there is a slight difference in how they look. I have yet to see this in person (but soon I will!), so I'm not sure if the visual difference is subtle or obvious. -- john ----- Original Message ----- From: "aliis_vorbach" <aliis_vorbach@yahoo.com> To: <dotcomformat@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Sunday, February 06, 2005 3:43 PM Subject: [dotcomformat] small groups - big intentions > > > greetings larry and other 5 members, hell we are a small group, just new? > anyway it was recomended i join so here i am. i would like to know what > this groups aims are and how they will be achieved. i know of lots of > good modules out their would be fabulous in dotcom lineup, no doubt > members here feel same way regards modules they have seen in other > systems. what about copyrights/patents and licenses and who here's got > cicuit/electronics skills? > sadly its not me. > > ergards aliis >
