I'm also looking for a nice analog poly, but I'm
through with unreliable vintage stuff, and there
aren't many newer options out there. I've been
drooling over the Prophet 08, but I keep reading mixed
comments about its sound. I wish someone would come up
with a cheap Juno clone or something, but it's not
likely to happen.
In the meanwhile, I've just got back my Ensoniq ESQ-1
(which a cousin borrowed), and it's a great hybrid
poly synth. No knobs, but extremely easy to program,
and with 3 oscs, 3 LFO's, and 4 envelopes per voice
(plus amplitude cross-modulation, osc sync, and other
nice tricks), it's a very powerful synth. It's also
very analog sounding. Can't believe people sell them
for less than $200. Oh well, such is life.

There are some MIDI/CV converters out there (try
Kenton or Doepfer) with multiple pitch/gate outputs
which can handle chords. I don't know any specific
models, though.

Same here. My Waldorf XT and Korg MS2000R don't see
much action anymore (which is bad because they're
great synths). I also bought an Emu MP7 Command
Station which I think I will end up selling, although
it works great as a drum machine.

Good luck finding the best for your needs. If you get
the Prophet 08, I would like to know what you think
about it.
