So I am on musicians fiend looking at mixers to use with my MX400
when it dawned upon me' "Hey there is an old 16 track master sumthing
up in my attic!!"
So after spending a hour of painstakingly making my way thru the
jungle that is my attic...I see it in the sunlight no less, covered
in a an old sheet.
Wrastling it down the creaky ladder by my self was no easy task.
It is an old Studiomaster 16-4-2 from the mid to late 80's with 5knob
sweep british EQ's....=)
It matches my DotCom!!!!! nice dark stained wood sides 3 auxsends...=)
I bought it in the early 90's at a pawn shop for $200bucks to run a
small punkclubs PA.........it was never used in the club and lived in
my parents attic for 8years till I moved up here to the NW in
2000....and even then it was one of those, "Just put that damned
thing back in the attic" well here it is 08 and i have had it 16yrs
and only checked it out for a couple of hours back in the club.
I must say I love it... lots of routing set ups, its a abit large but
VERY musical. real warm, it does need to be cleaned....but sounds
great for 16 years in an attic.
Maybe its just me but it makes me smile....yeah I can go buy a nice
compact rackable mixer in a nice flight case.........but this has
charm and presence, and now a new home.
LOL
anyone else have a big old analog mixer that they use?
