The only modern example of using analog optical signals I'm aware of is the singing tesla coil. That's done solely to keep the high voltages of the coil away from the audio equipment. Has anyone here tried anything more than that? For example, bounce a laser off a shiny guitar string, collect the reflected light, amplify it, and send it down a fiber for processing and eventually to a speaker. -- David Griffith dgriffi@cs.csubak.edu A: Because it fouls the order in which people normally read text.
