Ok, then let me officially anounce that I am very interested in getting a
Blacet EG in dotcom format! Do you need to reach a certain number before you
do a batch of panels like Rogers pre-order deal or can you just make one for
me? I initially just want one, I need to make room in my cab for it and can
only spare so much at the moment.

Knobs, pots and jacks I'll get from Roger I suppose, however, what is the
specs of the pots? Do Rogers pots fit the bill or do I need to find others?
Don't Blacets pot have the same size shafts? I know they're fracks but
sometimes small pots have standard size shafts.

The LED, is it like on the Q106 VCO? In that case I don't mind it at all
although I can't say I look at it very often on my .com EG's...

So with pots and all plus some shipping and your making the panel -would I
be right in assuming a $200 price tag on this deal?

Thanks
/Niklas

I have two of these converted into MOTM format. I have never done a
dot com panels for it. But, I am certainly open to adding it to the
list of panels we want to add to our line. The cost of conversion
is:
panel
pots
knobs
jacks
That is all quite variable since you can use a variety of part
varieties. You can get the Blacet kit is the "basic" kit form so
that he leaves out his pots, jacks, knobs, and panel for a slightly
rediced price.

If I were doing my panels again, I'd leave out that stupid LED. The
blinking is insane.

It appears you are not alone.

Any quantity. The price goes down as the quantity goes up. So, if
three people buy one, they are cheaper than if I sell only one. The
screen cost is spread across the number of panels sold.

50K pots in most all Blacet stuff. yopu can get the alhpa pots like
Roger uses for less than $1 each from Mouser. I have the knobs if
you want to get them from me. I do not make it known to the dot com
list. But, I will sell to my panels customers for $2 each verses
Roger's $4 each. Jacks, I recommend Switchcraft 112a at about $1.25
each.

They are D shaped.

The Blacet LED blinks all the time to indicate the time base of the
EG. Damn annoying if you ask me.

I have no idea since I have not looked at the items you want. The
panel price can vary for $25 to about $70 depending on quantity. I
will get some prices on line soon. I hope to get to printing panels
in July. My day gig has just been too much lately.

Larry,

I would be in for two VC EGs. Just let me know where to sign up

BTW, Larry I am still building my time machines in .com format and I
have two questions for you. 1) can you give a source for the center
dentent potentiometer needed and 2) I am thinking of using a blue LED
for this but I am not sure which one to use, have you used any blue
LEDs before?

Thanks.

Harold

I will put you on my list to nitify. I had planned to run panels
last month. But, I have been working 12 to 16 hours a day sometimes
in my day gig. I have not even mowed about 1/2 my grass yet this
year. Sigh.... So, I am behind.

Your choices for these is limited. If you plan to use regular dot
com style knobs and need a 1/4" shaft, I recommend these:
Mouser part number 313-2000-50K. This is a 16mm Alhoa carbon pot
(similar to what is used in dot com modules, but smaller). That
model is 50K to match the Blacet circuit and does have a center
detent.

Yes, I used 10 of them in my exapnded PROM Blacet Miniwave to
indicate which of the 10 PROMS is active since I can select them with
voltage control. I had red and green ones in the bank and wqve
select so I wanted a different color.

There are plenty out there to pick from. Here is what I would
consider wehn selecting them:

Get a T1 size (that matches the dot com size format for LEDs).
be sure to get a "diffused" one. The others produce almost a "point"
of light that is not very appealing and will hurt your eyes if you
look staight into it. You may also find that you need to make the
current limiting resistor larger. Otherwise, the blue LED will be
way too bright using the same current as the red ones.

Larry means T1 3/4...
