Anyone own a Cyndustries LPG in DotCom format... yet?

Anyone own a Cyndustries LPG in DotCom format... yet?

2009-05-14 by David Ryle

I've had one on order for 7 weeks and can't seem to obtain delivery.

http://www.cyndustries.com/info.cfm

According to Cynthia they delivered the first run already. I was told mine was to be delivered last week. Anyone have one yet?

I don't mean to sound alarmist, but I've had two promises come and go already, so I'm beginning to discount the direct dialog with Ms. Webster. To her credit she does respond and I'm certain I'll eventually get one but my question is to discern whether I'm alone on this delivery problem or not. Is this normal? Should I chill?

Thanks for any comments...

-David

PS - kind of strange that they left off the Buchla reference and have "Channel One" on all four segments.

OK thanks. BTW how do you like it?

I too am certain it will all happen, but since I'm relatively new to the "current" modular marketplace, I've been spoiled to Arrick's bsuiness model. Order something and get it on time.

I've been building and using modular synths since the 80's but haven't bought any for almost twenty years until last year. There is so much to choose from now but my choices are all based on format and function right now. So far it's been only Arrick, STG Soundlabs and Cyndustries. Good choices (I hope).

I understand small business. I am a manufacturer of power transmission parts and feel badly for people in the component building business. They are susceptible to vendor delivery problems. I too have problems getting raw materials and consumables but we quote worst-case scenarios and deliver ahead of schedule 99% of the time. Just the way I like to do business (for 40 years). This helps my distribution network and OEM's to have realistic scheduling logistics and I suppose I expect all business to be likewise.

Thanks again for the re-assurance. I know I'll be happy with the module when I get it.

-David

artwork error, hence the blowout prices at the end.

I received mine a few weeks ago, roughly one month after I ordered it. I responded to the posting that Cynthia submitted around that time.
I have to say that I've been very successful in my dealings with her. Of course, I've always only ordered when she explicitly stated that she had specific units in stock (so far, I've purchased the LPG and the Sawtooth Animator).

I have one, but I believe it was from the first run (a couple of
months ago).

It's one of two purchases that I've made from Cynthia, and I guess
I've gotten lucky. Clear communications from her, and shipment in the
expected time frame.

The Saw Animators are awesome. Very fat even using one oscillator. As for the ZO, as many have said, there should be a 'Zeroscillator U.' unless you are willing to spend a great deal of time with it. Cynthia has said when I spoke you her that she'd be happy to spend some time going through it, but haven't availed myself of the offer. I should have mentioned in my last post that I do see things greatly improved since the ZO days.

I purchased the LPG right before relocating my studio (I decided to
strike while the iron was hot on the LPG...i.e. she had an
inventory!). As a result, I haven't had time to really try it out yet.

On the ZO, well I own two of them but I haven't been able to get my
brain around them yet.

a) IMHO putting the word "Buchla" or "Moog" anywhere on the front
panel of a device not made by Buchla & Associates or Moog Music would
be a bad idea.

b) the artwork gaffe was my fault. i'm sorry.

these do exist, i promise, and use exactly the same jacks as STG
Soundlabs MU-format modules.

The Modcan A format QFPG modules did have the Buchla name on them. From what I understand Cynthia had a permission agreement to do so. I guess it was respect for the vactrol idea?
