I have both and love both. but the MD has a MUCH larger sonic pallete and due to the sequencer is capable of so much more, not to mention the fact that it's hardware and you can interact with it much better than you could using uTonic and a MIDI controller. that said, uTonic is *well* worth the money and I'm very happy that I own it. it's miles short of being a replacement for the MD, but for simple drum synthesis its quite an excellent buy. I often use uTonic when sketching out tracks, but then go to the MD when I want to get serious about my drum tones; there's just so much more there... just my $.02 :-) [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
