this would be cool and I'd certainly like to have it.  but I doubt that 
it will happen.
I believe that Elektron considers the Sidstation to be a "finished" 
product and thus
aren't really rushing to make OS updates.  I'm sure there are much more 
interesting
things they'd like to get to (and I'd like to see them get to!).

that's a good idea, but you can't really listen to the Sid directly 
from its
outputs can you?  I was under the impression that the signal was too
low (and mono) to simply plug in headphones.  but yes, a test button
would be cool (kind of like how the Nord racks will play C3 when you
press a certain button; I forget which).
