In the Cubase Sample editor, the trick is to rightclick on the time/bar display at the top/bottom and change it to samples. For my settings: the Record offset is always set to 0, I manually adjust the samples as I can't always rely on the offset working as it should. I use Cubase SL2.2 at the moment but have just ordered an upgrade to SX3, will test it against that when it arrives and let you know...
