Re: [elektron] Monomachine & midi...

2005-10-30 by Jared Telling

hi there - thanks for the feedback... i feel kinda stupid about this, but i
guess you have to start somewhere.

basically I'm looking to use cubase so i can add drums etc...and synch it
with my mm.

I somewhat bewildered by it all and I'm not really sure where to start,
perhaps a recommended book or site would be good.

I had the midi in cable connected to the midi in on the mm and the same for
the out...hehe... so ive swapped that so in goes to out and out goes to in.
It makes sense now but not at the time.

I have a SB Audigy which has a midi in and midi out on the front but they
look like ps2 connections. I went to my local store and they sold me a
connection that uses the joystick port. The only thing is that is connected
via the onboard soundcard I think. In cubase the inputs are SB Audigy Midi
Port & SB Audigy Midi Port II - I don't know if I need to install something
for it to recognise the joystick port?? Maybe I need to buy a cable that has
the ps2 connections?

I also don't know how to install the updates.

All basic things, but I can't find any help within cubase or the mm manual
as i think this is probably too basic.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers,

Jared.
