I thought I'd pass these answers from the always-reliable Jon Elektron.  I was curious about backwards compatibility in the new machines.

I suppose that 64-step MD patterns are simply truncated to
32.  Would someone here please verify that?

Hi there Niall,

The DigiPRO wave machine isn't affected by the new waveforms. That's a read 
only machine.

Kits from the MKII units should be compatible with MKI units. Non existant 
machines will be transformed to a GND machine.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
