I thought I'd pass these answers from the always-reliable Jon Elektron. I was curious about backwards compatibility in the new machines.

I suppose that 64-step MD patterns are simply truncated to
32. Would someone here please verify that?

Hi there Niall,

The DigiPRO wave machine isn't affected by the new waveforms. That's a read
only machine.

Kits from the MKII units should be compatible with MKI units. Non existant
machines will be transformed to a GND machine.

Hey Niall,

I'm confused now.. does the MnM allows you to upload user waveforms ?

Marc,

Aye, the Mk2 Monomachines allow you to load up to 64 samples
- they're more like single-cycle waves like you'd find in a
rompler. The two new machines introduced in the latest OS let you use these.
