They just released a new bank of patches for the Sid. And even if I were claiming they'd dropped support, I wouldn't blame the MD for it. I bought my sidstation over 1 year before the MD was released, and they haven't released an OS update for it yet. They worked out all the bugs, which is all I can ask for. Adding extra features isn't really a requirement for me, since I bought it with the feature set it has. Not to mention the MD is a more versatile piece, and most likely appeals to a wider market. It makes sense for them to concentrate on that for now, and deal with the niche market the sidstation aims for later. The MD has the potential to be huge (especially for a company as small as elektron.) I'd like to see Elektron come out with a stripped down version of the MD at a cheaper price (maybe fewer effects, less knobs, only 2 outs, 1 in, and maybe fewer tracks) to get people introduced to their gear. Imagine if in 2 years we'll all be listening to Kid SPS-1's latest album :) Now having said that, I would like to see midi triggering of the individual oscillators added. I have no idea if that's feasible tho. c.
