First 100 machinedrums ever produced...tighter knob action. Is This Bad?

I am asking cus I am about to buy one , but the seller warned me  
before I buy it that this is #45 out of the first 100 that were 
produced. And the first 100 have tighter knob action than the 
newer ones. Anyone have any feedback on this? Should I hold 
out for a newer one? Thanks!
