Yes, that's cool - give the '909 machine' a real twist with something like a comb filter or something wacky that encourages the user to stay away from the standard 909 classic sound. I guess my reservations are party about the MD becoming too popular - something far more likely if it's viewed as an enhanced 909 clone. Many people on this list have asked if it can do 909 kicks, 909 hihats, and 909 type pattern sequencing. These seem to be key purchasing points for many users. I just like having a 'secret weapon' that not many others own! :o) Andy www.neuroport.net ----- Original Message ----- From: basvandewerk <Bazziman@...> To: elektron-users@yahoogroups.com Sent: Friday, December 20, 2002 12:25 PM Subject: Re: [elektron] 909 hats Well, spending 3 times 32 kb on those 909 samples and ginving them a machine of their own (one that adds an exciter, analogue-like filter, compression, attack, decay, pitch etc.etc.) is something neither a real 909 nor my groovebox nor my sampler can do...allthough the sampler comes closest. It would be a better use of memory in the MD than that silly elvis demo....wouldn't you agree on that? Who wouldn't mind a few extra machines in their MD? I know I wouldn''t. (Am I sounding too greedy??) I did get some very nice results, when trying to emulate the 909...none sounded like a 909 at all but I got some very nice hats indeed. Your use of Yahoo!
