It would be a total > waste of a mono-track just to use it as a MIDI machine to trigger the > MD. well, it's not a total waste; you wouldn't lose any of the internal tracks because you would use one of the dedicated MIDI tracks to trigger the MD's patterns. note that a maximum-length MD pattern is only half the length of a maximum-length MnM pattern. so you might have to do some coordination with the respective triggering. Do they > synch well together? well, I'm not really using them in song mode together right now so I haven't had to deal with this. however, my for-future-use solution was to make separate song-mode sequences for each machine. there's far more power that way and I wouldn't have to sacrifice a track on either machine to keep them in sync.
