The problem of this is how to design the interface so it wouldn't be 
too much work setting it up. If it was a global thing which you just 
set up once, then it would be ok. But the nature of this is that it 
should be available on a kit basis. And it would be very time 
consuming to set this up for all kits you create. And then you'd 
loose a bit of the benefit of having a setup where you know where 
all the encoders are routed, because it could change when you change 
pattern.

I wouldn't rule this out in the future, but I don't see a perfect 
way of implementing it at this moment.
