[elektron] Re: Monomachine reviews ?questions etc!

I think to compare the Monomachine to any other synth is missing the
point, simply because no other machine has the same features, it is
a unique synth - something that Elektron pride themselves in. I have
used and owned many many synths and none come close to the MnM in
terms of UI, features, ingenuity and most importantly SOUND.

VA's are mostly dedicated to recreating (to varying degrees of
success) old analogue synths, to me they always fall a little short,
useable but not quite there yet. The MnM on the other hand is not
trying to be an emulation of an old synth (Ok, so there is the Sid
machine, but this is just one facet) therefore it frees you of all
the baggage of trying to get that TB303 sound or some Juno pad and
positively encourages you to do something new, now I LOVE all those
classic sounds as much or even more so than the next guy but the MnM
is much more exciting, yet it also complements analogue gear very
nicely.

I write mainly Techno, Electro and other futuristic music and I can
honestly say the MnM is perfect for this, (amongst many other
things) to me its like Kraftwerk in a box and then some, somehow
robotic yet REAL funky. The VO machine is simply awesome and the
main thing that initially got me interested, a singin' synth, how
cool is that??? Its worth the price for that alone!! But then the
other machines, combined with the brilliant sequencer and control,
simply amazing and limitless depths for exploring.

I have been producing music for 12 years on many lables around the
world and believe me when I say people are going to do some amazing
music with this synth.

Comparing it to a Nord is like comparing a Volvo (Nord) to the
MilleniuM Falcon (MnM).

Another thing, the design, gorgeous, inspired.

"Just another note on the sound quality: The Monomachine is kind of
special" - Thats an under statement!

"We use two high spec DSP's for six tracks, and we use audio
hardware like Crystal DA/AD and Burr Brown amplifiers that should be
a guarantee that we get the best transients and dynamics out of it.
We have tried to be perfectionists! :) " - I'm feeling that!

Pure genius. Oh, and LFO are users, that should tell you something
too.

Convinced yet?
