(and I think you mean "track" here, not "bank" right?) so, there's two things that you can do in terms of MD MIDI mapping: 1) each track generates a MIDI note on the base channel (you want to map your mpd-16 to these notes, by the way); so you can use the buttons for the tracks as a keyboard to play your Nord if you like; that is, given that the MD's base channel is set to the Nord's channel (which you wouldn't normally want when you're playing back sequences; this is what was giving you problems before) 2) each pattern can be triggered to start when the MD receives a specific note on its base channel; so maybe note #C3 means pattern A1 should start; when the MD receives note #C3 on the IN port, it will start playing pattern A1 check in the global menu under the mapping section. there'll be one for "track" (i.e. #1 above) and then one for each pattern bank (#2). > for example, i could have a > trx machine play a drum sound and also trigger my nord? yes, but only one note on the Nord. for example, if in the global menu you map track 1 to note #A2 and then put the TRX machine on track 1 (and the MD's base channel matches the Nord's channel), whenever you trig the TRX machine on track 1 (either by pressing the button or by the sequencer running), it will send note #A2 to the Nord. > the only midi > settings i could find in the manual were in the global settings and > the midi machine. wow, id be really happy if i figued this one out. > thanks joe no problem :-) hope that helps! I feel like I could explain it better somehow, so feel free to email me if you're still unsure. Joe
