not sync out; control out is what you need to set.  sync out is just 
the clock,
control out sends the start/stop/continue messages.

nothing different than 1.12

yeah if it's worked under 1.12 then it's not your software or 
interface.  it's probably
just an incorrect setting in 1.19, I'd imagine.
