i like to process sid noise to add a nice ambient noise effect, 
sometimes i'll sync up an oscilator lfo and have it pulsating in and 
out in time with a sequence.  this is the noise i'm talking about. 
(tweak the time for a nice background effect)  Daniel of elektron had 
the suggestion of using a y cable on the output of the sid and run one 
of the leads on the y end into the input for a feedback loop.  i've yet 
to try that, but is a great idea.  THe arps, lfo's and tables are the 
best means to achieve interesting sounds. Control Oscilator volume with 
the sustain envelope parameter.
