new kits?

new kits?

2004-11-11 by bot44

Hi, Does anyone know of a way to import new kits into the MD? With my
microkorg I can get sounds off the web, I'd love to be able to do the
same with my MD... like I'd love a Electro-Harmonix Drm-15 or Drm-16
kits. Suggestions?

Thanks

There are kits posted on this forum. Look in...

Files > Machinedrum > Kits | Patterns | Songs > syx

They are saved as SysEx files. There are several programs that allow you to send sysex
files to external MIDI devices (like the MD).

For Mac OS X, use SysEx Librarian ( http://www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian/ ).

For Windows, I hear MIDI-OX ( http://www.midiox.com ) is excellent.

Under Linux, just open a terminal, and type something like...

cat my_sysex_file.syx > /dev/midi00

Maybe all the contest kits can be stored here too?
That would make a fine addition.
