Pat is really close in his explanation of Esperanto.
Especially about Shatner, and "Incubus", which the
Shatner parallel really doesn't help with thinking of
it and Klingon as different spheres. Esperanto was
developed to be a universal language, and the closest
it came was the UN trying to make it a universal
second language. Namely due to it's simplicity, all
the grammatical rules fit on one letter size page, or
A4, depending on your locale. Including exceptions, oh
wait, there isn't any. On computers, Esperanto is like
the Dvorak keyboard layout, about every OS supports
it, and almost no one uses it.
