Machinedrum ext sync...

2006-08-10 by roby

Hello, so i tried real quick last night (before falling asleep on my
chair) to sync up my Machinedrum and Monomachine to Live. Both units
were in song mode and I had set Live sync to 'song'.

Well the Monomachine jump to the correct song position while i was
changing song position in the timeline in Live. But the Machinedrum
wasn't. No matter where in the timeline in Live I would click, it would
always jump to the end of the song...

Hiya,

Even though technically both units should follow song position -
because Midi Clock is 24 ppq and you are hardware slaving from Live -
there is always the chance that you will lose midi clocks here and
there leading to odd/erratic sync in your hardware. Unless you are
certain of the stability of your PC midi sync out - you might be
better off slaving Live to either one of your Elektron boxes which
have ultra-reliable clocking. Also - are you using a thru box for the
sync or are you daisy chaining. Daisy chaining sync is a sure fire way
to cause problems. Get a powered thru box. Run your master sync into
the input and run all your slaves off the 'Thrus'.

Hope this helps.
