Questions

Hi all-
I am getting ready to purchase a Machine Drum and I have a couple of
questions:

Does anyone use this machine with a Kawai Q-80 sequencer? I am wondering how
well it will sync to the Q-80.

Are there any large OS bugs as of the new OS? I looked through the archive,
but didn't seem to find much in the way of problems.

I also saw that some folks had really bad experiences with getting defective
machines delivered. How is the recent track record?

Can the sequencer on the MD be used to sequencer external gear? i.e.
Basslines, leads, etc?

Thanks in advance for any info! I am excited to join the MD masses!

Brooks

The new OS is great. In fact, I haven't had any problems since the <1.0
OS versions. Even then it was pretty minor stuff.

Don't know about this, but you might want to email Elektron. Apparently
they had a bad batch of chips from a supplier, which caused some
problems. It's worth the risk tho, since Elektron is really good about
fixing problems. I had one of the first batch and they had some
problems with the knobs on them. I sent mine back and they replaced
them for free.

Yup, I use mine to sequence my sidstation and occasionally Vaz. The
audio inputs are also great for adding nifty effects to external gear.
I use my MD to process vocals a lot.

I use the machinedrum with a q80. It will sync fine to the kawai,
but I always use the machinedrum as the master clock. Get a midi
merge and then you can use the machinedrum as the master and also
have a keyboard input into the q80. I find this works the best.
The machinedrum sequencer is great for sequencing bass lines,
bleeps and other monophonic parts. Not so useful for chordy bits.
