ok, sorry

2002-12-08 by h3some <h3some@yahoo.com>

Hi all,

I just got my machinedrum a few weeks ago, and i really need your
help on the sysex-dump matter.
i've been reading a lot about the problems with it, but to be frankly
i don't understand.

I have midi-ox version 6.5.0.340 and i'm using it on my windows XP
with digidesign soundcard.
I want to dump some songs, but i can't make it work.

Can someone step by step explain what i have to do.
(yes, i have the midi's connected right, en in slot 1 i'm in sysex -
send, i selected song and pattern and i pressed enter)
I also got the error code 1 when i tried to recieve a sysex file to
the MD.

A while back i really received a sysex file in my MD without a prob,
but i had a different mid-ox version and i was on win ME at that time.

Please help.

marcel

I would suggest using dumpster if you can find it. I got it from the
files in the korg ms2000 group. i haven't had serious problems with
it... yet.

ok! I got the saving to pc working now. Think 1 midicable had a bad
day   :(
But now to transfer that file back to MD i get errors. Midicable is
fine, i double checked.
It says;
vbmidioutunprepairheader;an invalid parameter was sent to a system
function.
I press ok, it says;
VbMidiOutLongMsg;

Anyone?

I will get this to work grr..................

Bye, Marcel

1. You got both midi in and out connected? You should.

2. You also have to set up the MD to recieve as recieving then the
program runs after that. 3. Recheck your system and your midi set
up. You might want to reinstall the midi hardware. 4. Or just keep
sending it untill it recieves fully. Sometimes it seems like
starting a gasoline engine.

5. Don't give up.

Hi.
Ofcourse i have the cables connected in the right way :)
2. i also do that.

I will try again. and again. Midi works good. Protools sends midi out
from my PC to my MPC like a madman, so i wouldn't know why this
wouldn't work. I seem to do everything right

I will try again.

Thanx for helping out.
No point in saving this stuff if i can't bring it back to the MD :)

Marcel
