how about making the mp3s available somewhere such that we do not have to
join a YahooGroup (finmusic) in order to listen to them? :P

Sigh. Just another good reason to move this group to ampfea!

Are people really having a problem with Yahoo? I don't get any spam on
this account (knock on wood) so I don't think they sell our addresses.
As for the file access on Yahoo groups the group maintainers are
responsible for determining if files are publicly accessible, no?

I'm just curious about this ampfea meme.

Can't say the same.
I receive a lot of spam, I read some mailing lists and all of them are
on yahoo.

I use a fake old email here. I got loads of porn in my email. Maybe
it's from here.

Yahoo are known for "security" issues: they have a management system which
is very easy to pervert for spammers to grab every email in a group.

I don't know if they sell the address also (if they do it must be told
somewhere on yahoo groups) but the main problem is somewhere else.

Note some spammers use bots also to check every email a provider has. I've
received spam on an address I've NEVER used :-/

I have four e-mail accounts. One of them is signed up to around 25
Yahoo groups (including this one), and the other three aren't on any
lists at all.

The one signed up to Yahoo gets about 1 SPAM a day.

One of the others gets maybe 20 a day, another gets around 40, and
the final one, that I use for job application purposes (sites like
Monster, HotJobs, etc) gets over 100 a day.

Clearly, Yahoo is not a source of SPAM.

Which Sequencer?

2003-06-13 by Matt Picone

Hi folks

Sorry for the slightly off topic post. If you don't want to start this
topic on the list, email me privately.

I want a hardware sequencer and I'm wondering which ones to look at.
I'm really interested in creating/playing/jamming midi loops live.

I need:

Foot-pedal/Tap Tempo capability
Realtime Record with/without quantizing
Change patterns via keys/midi
Record takes on different tracks without stopping playback
Assign phrases to keys
Rock solid midi clock

I don't need:
Internal sounds/sampling/effects

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

-M@
