Does software exist with which I can edit patches for the SIDSTATION? -

> Does software exist with which I can edit patches for the SIDSTATION? I read that someone had created a Logic environment specifically for editing the SidStation, and that it was downloadable. Unfortunately when I clicked on the link, it turned out to be a dead one. You should read this: http://www.sospubs.co.uk/sos/nov99/articles/sidstation.htm

My only huge complaint about the SidStation, now that I've got the hang of how to edit patches in it, is that the process is so laborious owing to the small number (four) of pots there are. Going through all those menus is tedious and can become confusing. Would anyone else pay Elektron for a software graphical editing environment for the SidStation? I know I would - within reason. It would be a great way to get around the problem of its limited interface. It's an amazing, surprising, unpredictable little box, and I love it for those characteristics, but I wish editing was quicker and more intuitive.

I have a Logic Environment file for the Sidstation, and I think (not sure cause I'm not at home now) for the MD too. If anyone would like to have these, let me know. By the way thanks everyone for the information so far, after having been subscribed to this list for a few months I bought both the Sid and the MD ;) Cheers, Yvo. > --- In elektron-users@yahoogroups.com, "Col Dee" <coldee@m...> wrote: > > > Does software exist with which I can edit patches for the > > SIDSTATION? > > My only huge complaint about the SidStation, now that I've got the > hang of how to edit patches in it, is that the process is so > laborious owing to the small number (four) of pots there are. Hard? I'm as fast on it as I am on anything else I own. Sure, four pots, but I can whip over to almost any param in a couple seconds. I don't see this as a hurdle for the Sid. I'll agree with you on this one, I find the Sidstation very easy to program. That's not to say I wouldn't like to see an editor released for it as that would probably come in handy as well. More tools is always better. I'd love to write one for OSX but I've never down midi program on it and I don't have the time to learn it. I imagine slapping one together with Max/MSP wouldn't be hard... c.
