I'm very looking forward for that since it will contain a lot of nice changes. It can't be long now....... Ronald. PS. will the "one hand" mute function be working?

I hope it comes out soon. He mentioned in here that the next update would void all existing patterns/songs, due to internal structural changes. So I've been kind of avoiding writing anything with the Mono since then, which sucks. > PS. will the "one hand" mute function be working? I sure hope so. But my advice for using the MM with the MD (for now) is to place the MD above the MM, with the function button directly above the MM's track buttons. That way, at least you can mute/unmute MD and MM tracks simultaneously. Joe.

Yes, I hope it's soon for the new OS, I have also took a break from writing on the MM. Also, how do you guys use your MM and MD together and in what situations? I have done a couple songs with MD controlled by the MM and muted and unmuted tracks and then built the song up and down that way. I'm wondering if I should use song mode and map out everything. It would require some work to count everything out to make both machines match up, but probably more accurate for my recordings. I haven't used the MM or MD in a live setting yet...anybody have stories out there from the land of Mono? --- In elektron-users@yahoogroups.com, "Joe" <jmelnyk@c...> wrote: > --- In elektron-users@yahoogroups.com, "Roonan" <info@r...> wrote: > > I'm very looking forward for that since it will contain a lot of > > nice changes. But this works a bit better for me when trying to write something formally. That is, it's nice to jam with the MD and MM in pattern mode and do everything manually. But for more complex (or rapid) changes and for finalizing a song's structure, I prefer song mode. It's more focused since I can abstract away from structure and just deal with sound. But yes, it is time consuming to make sure that the two match up correctly. Joe

Mark Bell, aka LFO, recently did a show with a flat panel iMac and a Monomachine. ;-]

Thanks for the input Joe, I think I will start to use song mode. -Scott --- In elektron-users@yahoogroups.com, Joe <jmelnyk@c...> wrote: > On Tue, Nov 25, 2003 at 12:40:41AM -0000, izfunky wrote: > > Also, how do you guys use your MM and MD together > > and in what situations? [When will the new MM o.s. be released?] It shouldn't be long now... --- In elektron-users@yahoogroups.com, "izfunky" <izfunky@a...> wrote: > Also, how do you guys use your MM and MD together > and in what situations? I would recommend either trigging sequences from one machines, by using a MIDI machine on the MD or a MIDI track on the Mono for trigging a pattern on the other machine... or... > I'm wondering if I should use song mode > and map out everything. We are adding some aid in song mode for seeing how far down in the song each row is, so you can easily synchronise them together. Then of course there are many ways of using them together if just editing the units live, but that's another story. Daniel

Last time you said this it was within the same day. I really want to start using the MM for real now but all my work will get lost due to the update. btw will the kit's get unusable too in the next release or only the patterns? Ronald.
