Hi Spiros,

I think the SID emulation on the MnM cool pretty cool personally but
obviously nothing comes close to the grit of a real chip.

On the Mono you can have 6 emulated SID Chips at a time of course :)

Having said this I think you may find it hard to get your hands on a
SidStation :(

Not much help I know but best of luck anyway.

i just bought myself a sidstation for $500, in very good condition over
here in the United States. There are a few people out there still selling their
sidstations, just gotta post up ads in a bunch of spots and work out some
deals. For the sound, i would just get a sidstation if u only lookin for a few
electro sounds, lol but if ya got the cash to spend, then a MnM would be nice.
Heh i dunno if this be helpful or if i just went on rambling again.

if you're looking for "electro" then I would certainly say that
the MnM (and the MD someday maybe :-) is up your alley a little more than
the Sid. the MnM can do great Sid impersonations, but it certainly
doesn't have the rawness and character that the Sid has (nor does it
have wavetables or independently programmable oscillators).

so I would say that if the MnM's in your price range now, then go for that
and keep an eye out for a used Sid later. they'll eventually go up in
price, but they've not gone up too much yet; so you needn't worry about
"getting while the getting's good" or anything like that.

hope that helps!
Joe

Very good song there. Along the lines of new lfo material. Very nice
back to basics stuff.
