MnM Buggin' out??

MnM Buggin' out??

2004-07-22 by kvasimesis

i'm doing a set with Monomachine -> MicroKORG combination and i
programmed some notes and a program change on MnM's external sequencer
for MicroKORG. first everything seemed to work out just as expected
but when i returned working on the songs the program change didn't
have any effect anymore (it doesn't change the patch of micro). only
if i first tweak the program change parameter it sends it to korg
successfully!! this is making me mad, can anyone think of what am i
doing wrong or is this yet another bug in MnM OS?

another thing that is annoying me big time is that after playing a
song you need to press stop TWICE before you can load another song
(think of a live situation when you need to load a new song quickly)...

hope they'll fix these soon.

I think it's a bug, but I don't know if it's ever been reported. I've
dealt with it for
a while now. mainly if I set up a lock on a step to change the
parameter, it will
only do so if the values of the program change are different than the
default
values (those used on all other steps). maybe you should email
Elektron to
notify them of it.

double stop = all notes off. so I'm not surprised you have to trigger
it to change
songs (though I don't remember ever running into it as a problem).

by the way, in the works for me is an MD/MnM software editor/librarian.
  one feature
is that it will enable one to concatenate several songs together into a
single song.
that way, you can play all of your songs seamlessly if you want to. of
course, the
maximum row length limitation will still apply. but it's pretty large
(256, I think), so
it shouldn't be too big of a problem. until then, you can do the same
thing with
a *whole lot* of cut and paste :-)

nope, not yet. I'm writing it and it might be awhile. I'll post to the
list when it's
complete.

you should be able to just press FUNCTION+clear again to get it back.
if it works, "UNDO CLEAR" will appear on the screen.

good luck, man. we've all been there :-)
