Hi Gordon Are you sure that your floppydrive is original? Both my Emax I and Emax II (keyboard versions) floppy drives are illuminated with a red light from power up untill power off no matter if I access the drive or not. The drives only spin up when I insert a floppy in it or if I access the drive and they work without problems. My floppy drives are the original ones.
