Nope there isn't a way it's all proprietary. Unless your model already had a hard drive
(which you could then modify it to support an external Zip drive).

EMX is not a translator. It's a disk imager. It simply extracts/write the sectors on the
diskettes that have bank information or OS information. It does not know what it is
copying. To run correctly it requires you be in DOS 6.1 or earlier. With Windows 9.x a
reboot into DOS mode will allow you to work with bank data only, to work with OS data
you need to be in actual DOS 6.1 or earlier.

For the best quality samples you need to do what professional sample creators do, you
need good preamps, compressor/limiters, and eq. Sampling into something like Sound
Forge is easier IMHO because you can graphically work with the samples, you can
Normalize them, use effects, and overall work on samples in a way the Emax absolutely
can not do, plus the enviroment is a much more efficient method than going through all
the menus on the Emax's tiny screen.

It is for use with a older Macs running old copies of the Alchemy software. The only
computer editor to actually have a true Emax module built in.

When it came time for expandable memory they introduced the Emax II, of course
though you get some of the best sounding digital filters out there, they are not the same
as the ones on the Emax. Of course, to me, the best use of those filters are analog and
drum type samples for which 512k is enough memory.
