Re: [emax] Differences: Emax & Emax II

2005-03-29 by JUDITH DEHART

How does that "twelve bit beauty" add better character
to the sound? I guess I'll call Warner Bros and tell
them it's time to re-record the last two albums so my
keys will "sit" in the mix.
I don't hear this magic difference that you do between
Emax I and II...........I do hear a difference between
Emax (I or II) and my EMU Ultras................The
Ultras can sound a bit cold..(on some samples).
Help me out understanding what the difference is. If
your talking differences in filters or
what.?...........No offense........we all love
Emax.....but I've used both and like Emax
keyboards....period.
I'm a musician, not a techno detail guy, maybe I just
don't get it.
Share the magic.............
Dave

Yes, magic!!!!

That 12 bit beauty that adds great character to any
sound sampled, makes everything more musical, and has
a great way of sitting in a mix while still sounding
big.

The rack is ideal, the best one to get is a SE HD with
the corresponding panel graphics, then you can even
add external scsi and have a zip drive, but I don't
use too many of the SE features, so a regular emax is
cool too if the price is right.

I was wondering what the major differences are
between the original
Emax and the Emax II, aside from the Emax II being
an upgraded
  version
of the Emax. I ask because I already have an Emax
II keyboard, and
have the opportunity to purchase a rack mount Emax,
and I'd like to
know if picking up the Emax is worth my while, like
if it possesses
  features the Emax II doesn't.
