Re: connecting zip drive to emax 2

2005-04-08 by David Mattock

I agree it sounds like you don't have a scsi zip drive. Some of the
newer scsi zip drives don't work with the Emax 2 very well anyway so if
you start looking for a scsi zip drive make sure it is one of the older
original zip drives. The Syquest EZ135 or EZ230 removable cartridge
drives are faster and more reliable than the zip drives but are harder
to come by and disks are harder to find also.

About SCSI id's. The factory setting of an Emax 2 Hard Drive is SCSI
ID#1. The floppy drive is set to SCSI ID#0 (I'm not sure if it's
really a scsi drive but it certainly uses the scsi ID) You can easily
change the scsi id of the hard drive by changing the jumper settings on
the hard drive itself. You can usually find the jumper settings info
on the internet for the specific drive in your Emax 2.
