Is there a way to make the emax "detect" a floppy drive even if it's not there? (maybe there's a "loop" after connecting the cable that senses there's a drive connected?) Most keyboards are basically a computer.....and like a motherboard that looks for the boot disk because its part of the bios....the ROM of a synth looks every time for the boot drive.....because its part of the OS of the synth.....I don't think you can X it out.......unless the E synth lets you pick the boot drive in the OS and save as boot drive the zip......or the cable you are using to plug the zip into how ever that would be list in the Emu OS bios..... if it lets you pick and choose the boot drive or first boot item what ever that would be....Zip/HD/Floppy upon cutting the Emu on it would go to the Zip if chosen in bios as the boot disk..... gray ----- Original Message ----- From: brainztain To: emax@yahoogroups.com Sent: Thursday, June 29, 2006 3:41 AM Subject: [emax] Using an Emax HD without a floppy disk drive - Need some advice Hi, I want to completely remove the floppy drive from my Emax HD because I don't need it and will be using an internal zip drive, but it doesn't seem to get passed the "diagnostics" screen when I do that. I've read most of the posts that have anything to do with this matter but I haven't found anything helpful. Is there a way to make the emax "detect" a floppy drive even if it's not there? (maybe there's a "loop" after connecting the cable that senses there's a drive connected?) Any help is welcome. Thanks. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
