Can you see the message on the LCD for the SP-12?
If you can, Go to Setup and perform a CLEAR ALL MEMORY,
CLEAR ALL SOUNDS. Check it that brings your sounds back.
When was the last time you changed the battery on the unit?

          Hello everyone.

I have an odd situation at hand and I'd like some assistance if possible.

The other night I was running my MC-202 off the clock output of my
emax. Things were going pretty good and much to my surprise it worked.
Well when I was done I removed the cable from the MC-202 not thinking
much of it. I turned the MC-202 off and started wrapping the cable
when all of a sudden:

ZZZAP!

Confused (and very worried due to the silence) I looked and the emax
and it stopped running. I looked at the other end of the cable and it
was resting on top of the DX-7. My DX-7 is made of metal. Done.

My MC-202 and DX-7 are completely fine. My emax is dead.

All of the LEDs are on when the unit is powered up, the display has a
solid black bar, and there is no drive activity. I understand this can
mean a million and one things but has anyone had a similar issue and
is there anything I can do to fix / narrow the problem? I tried to
contact EPS electronics for possible repair but I have not heard
anything despite numerous attempts at contact. Are they even still in
business?

I also own an SP-12 Turbo that needs repair. Not sure what the issue
is but the unit powers up fine, the metronome sounds, nothing but a
faint "tick" or "pop" is heard when the pads are struck however and
the sample input display is at 100% volume (black bar).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'd love to get these
units running once again and give 'em a proper home.

I am also going to be posting on other boards as well so apologies for
the possible "cross-posting".

Thanks in advance,
-John
