Thanks for you support Ted!!, check my report: Wayne: Could you be more specific about the testing of the 5V digital power ?, because last night i worked on the machine, I check de purple, orange, etcetera.... +12`s Volts +10s ,s volts , the yellow wire marks +4,92 volts,....... but i cannot locate the pin 3 of VR1 and check +5Volts, theres a green wire with no power. I made also some reseating...no success, I found 3 ICs near the Eprom heated, so i suspect there`s something wrong in that zone. Is some other thing to do????? greetings Ricardo --- ted Summers <djtbs1@...> wrote: > This is common in any device that has chips and is > that old..... try > working on old pinballs / slot machines / videogames > sometime ! :-) > > I do not recommend shorting pins together..... > > So, after removing power from emax, > > 1) Attach anti-static wrist strap > 2) put down anti-static material (packages that > computer motherboards > come in have a silvery plastic bag, use this if > available) > 3) remove the boards from emax (mark all connectors > where they go) > 4) Gently pry up chips a little bit on both ends > with flat > screwdriver (like Wayne said- you do not have to > completely remove > the chip from the board) > 5) Press Chips back down > 6) put boards back in emax > > TEST!! > > Good Luck! > > Ted > > > On Apr 24, 2007, at 12:22 PM, RICARDO JUAREZ wrote: > > > Ok, Wayne great!, looks fine: > > I hope that the power supply will be the > cause!!!!, > > otherwise ill try as you said with the ICs (the > > reseat will be with the power supply ON ? i dont > think > > so......) , but before I will became rehearsing in > an > > acient mother board...i need a bit of luck. > > Thanks for you unvaluable help,....I except to > send > > you good news!!!!.... > > Bye > > Rick > > > > --- Wayne Griffin <ingsoc_1979@...> wrote: > > > > > This sounds like it could also be heat related. > > > > > > Emaxen are 20 years old now. > > > > > > If you know your soft/firmware are okay and your > 5V > > > is > > > somewhat in spec then... > > > > > > CAREFULLY reseat every chip and every connection > on > > > your motherboard.
