i think some of it has to do with what people feel that "secret" weapon *is*
for a certain sound or production that they are looking for.  there's a lot
of hype - if someone finds out that their favorite artist or producer uses a
Casio SK-1 then they *have* to use it too.  i also think maybe another part
of it has to do with how low the value of the dollar is compared to the
Euro, that is, if someone is willing to ship overseas.  Ebay reaches out to
such a broad market that it's really tough to get a deal.  The best bet is
to luck out at someone's garage sale...
