Hi there, welcome in the wonderful EMAX world ! So you have an EMAX 2 SE. Mmmm, either you have an EMAX SE (EMAX 1) or you have the EMAX-II (which always includes SE, so it's not specified in the type name). Since the menus seems to work on your EMAX with OS 2.14, you probably have an EMAX-II. I assume you don't have a harddisk ? This means the EMAX needs to access the floppy disk all the time to load pieces of the OS which are required for the menu items you request. You know, the EMAX doesn't keep its full OS in memory, it only loads parts of it, depending of the function you request in the menu. So when you boot the EMAX-II with an OS 2.14 disk, and then you want to format another disk, make sure you keep the OS 2.14 floppy disk in the drive until the moment of actual staring to format the other disk. Because the EMAX first has to load the software module for formatting disks from the original OS 2.14 disk. When you already switched disks too early (with the one to be formatted) the EMAX tries to find its OS on the new disk, doesn't find it of course, and hence thinks the disk contains a wrong OS and can not load its software. That's probably the cause of the error message. When you want to copy the POLY800 bank to a disk with EMXP, make sure that the disk in the PC's floppy drive has first been formatted for EMAX usage before copying banks to it. You can do that with EMXP itself (another menu item) of on the EMAX-II (but hey, you tried that already... unsuccessfully :-) I hope this helps ! ///E-Synthesist --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, nung242 <nung242@...> wrote: > > Hello all, > I am a new member and new owner of an EMAX 2 SE keyboard. > > I found EMXP and was able to create an o/s disk with 2.14. I had to replace the floppy drive ( I re-soldered a new floppy to DS00 like the post described ) it works great. Here are my problems: > > I can boot the EMAX and access the menus and such. ( I made sure to specify the type of sampler in the menu before I formated the floppy.) I am using dd/ds 720k verbatim floppies. > > Thanks for any help, I know you guys are the masters of this wonderful sampler. > > Jason > > __________________________________________________ > Do You Yahoo!? > Tired of spam?
