Emax

Hi there

I own an emax sampler with a broken disk drive. I've tried replacing 
it with a standard PCdrive, but even though the connections fit, it 
doesn't communicate. The one tech support guy I could find who 
actually remembers once repairing some of these things told me, that 
an old ATARI diskdrive might do the trick for me, but where do I find 
that? 
The questions for you guys are:

1) does anyone know of a way to get hold of one of these 
ATARIdrives?, or

2) does anyone know of some kind of app that will allow a pc (or mac) 
to read sounds from an emaxdisk and save them as wave, aiff or some 
other commonly used modern format.

Please help me, a lot of years hard work is running out the drain 
here.
