I recently bought the original Emax and it came with a large amount of sound discs. After using the unit, I realized that something is wrong with it. Whenever I play the keys or mess with the wheels, the sounds all come out glitchy and distorted. It's hard to describe, but I know the machine is not supposed to do this. The character of the sound changes horribly and sometimes the pitch wheel does not respond. I have a few sampler/drum machines and I was wondering if it's possible to convert the Emax sounds to ASRX/MPC2000xl/RolandMV8000 formats. Either one of these formats will do. Someone told me that the Kurzweil K2500 will load up the emu discs, but I do not have the cash to spend on one of those nor another Emax. Chicken Systems offers a translator, but I would like to know how well it works before giving up $80 for it. Any help would be appreciated and thank you for your time.
