Re: [emax] Re: EMAX II Slim Floppy + CF Drive (Thank You Ted!)

2009-02-18 by Brooks Mosher

do you install your CF reader in the Emax II rack? if so, does it fit fine
in the chassis slot without having to make it wider? i ended up getting a
Zip100 drive which i haven't put in yet for various reasons, one of which
being that it's just a little bit wider than the 3.5" cutout slot of my Emax
rack.

i did get the slim floppy put in and working (thanks to Ted of course) only
to find out my Emax is not playing the full 8 voices which only means more
problems... so i'm at a stand still until i find out *somehow* if it's a
replaceable part or the E-chip. i almost feel like i should just pony up
the money for another Emax and use the one i have now for spares...

Anyways, here's a pic of my Emax with the slim drive installed in (sorry for
the bad quality, my camera's battery died before i had a chance to take
better pics). no mods (like you) were done to mount the drive - i simply
took some silicone (glue for aquariums) and glued it to the top of the
chassis. ha... works fine being that the slim floppy is lightweight -
although i wouldn't trust it going out to a gig or out of my bedroom
studio... ;)

Cheers,

Brooks

PS - just want everyone to know that Ted is THE MAN - he has been selflessly
giving, making up these SCSI kits, slim floppy converter, etc., and
answering multiple questions i have asked him... THANKS TED!!!!!
