Re: Emax II Floppy Issues

2009-04-28 by George

Hi Jammie,

Thanks for the reply. I think the flat connector had a little notch/nose and will fit only one way. Or am I wrong? I will have to open it up and again and check. Thanks.

G.

Today I opened the unit up cleaned the floppy head with alcohol. I noticed when I opened it that the flat floppy cable wasn't plugged all the way in and thought that might have been the reason for the errors I was getting. But after I put it all back together, all I'm getting now immediately upon powering the unit on (even without a disk in the drive) is the "Disk not Formatted" error. By the way, I also have a Rack Version Emax II that is doing the exact same thing. So basically, when powering the unit up, I get the blinking "Disk not Formatted" error along with a clacking Floppy noise. Does anyone know this problem and what can be done? Thanks in advance for any help.
