RE: [emax] Emax II HD

2009-07-16 by el macaco

I had a lot of luck opening my EMAX I's HD up and manually spinning the disk then formatting. if the problem is that the disk isn;t spinning. Now I have a CF card reader in an external box set for scsi ID 0 and I just the the HD stop spinning without restarting.

After long time of not powering up, it will not spin again, and a few slaps on the top can make it start again! Worked for years like that, but not a permanent solution.

Some older HD have a jumper to set it to 512MB limit.

Maybe that would make it work- if ti has that option?

Just a thought.

I currently have a Conner CP-3100 (105MB). I already found a 2GB
Quantum in my
own collection of old drives, but the Emax doesn't like that very much.

Are there any larger drives that can be made to work?
