solder all pins pin3 is n/c on the lcd pcb fit a 14 pin header
remove 2 pin header for the el backlight

Hey there... I ordered one of these, should be with me tomorrow.
You say you "left pin 3 disconnected", then you go on to say you "just leave 15-16 disconnected". Can you confirm which pins should not be connected on the new display?
Also, I know where the inverter is, I take it I just disconnect it and that is it done? Do I have to do this before testing the new display?
I'm not sure where the backlight connector is though, and what to desolder?
