Thanks all for your replies. Card adapter is 'Sandisk' Pcmic pc card ATA I got from Hong Kong... TBH I don't think it is a real SanDisk. Card I am working with is a Kodak CompactFlash 128mb I used to use for a camera. I have just tried a SCSI HDD in the Emax and it seems to stick at 'saving bank' and also is making no noises when formatting. Checked on computer and is OK. Tried another SCSI cable as well.
