Re: Gotek floppy emulator for Emax 1

2012-09-23 by dawtechie

I bought it used off ebay since there was a bit of talk of it working with the MPC60 (mine does not have SCSI), but I am all about the Emax now!

I will be doing your slim floppy/scsi card reader soon. Just trying to get it booted today. There is usually a good computer/electronics swap meet in my area next Sunday and hope to come back from it ready to get it up and running.

Ted (or anyone else), would you like me to look for anything for you? Just let me know.

What is weird about the existing floppy drive is that it looks new, very clean heads. Upon turning on the Emax Plus the floppy head advances 3 clicks stops (with any version of the OS), with the "loading software" message and that is far as it gets. I am currently on a quest to setup a SCSI PC, format an old DEC SCSI 535MB drive on LUN 0 and see if I can get it booted.

Thanks! Jeff
