Is the 26 pin IDC a scsi port
for an external drive?

Yes

 or should I daisy chain off the dead hard drive or
the floppy disc?

This is better as it would properly terminate the SCSI chain to do it this way (I don't know what EMU was thinking when they added the port this way- it's not SCSI best practice).

You can get a 50pin to DB 25 SCSI converter on ebay.


Or install a PCD-50b / 60b in the floppy slot with a  slim floppy.
